to try and
access some of your old archived data with a Q ARCH and see what you get.
FYI, my environments are SUN Solaris 2.6 and 2.7, server is TSM 3.7.4,
clients are TSM 3.7.2.

Hey Louis,
try doing a Q STGPOOL xx F=D on your disk pool and see what the MAXIMUM
SIZE THRESHOLD is set to. It might be that you disk pool only accepts files
to a maximum of say, 2 GB in size and the Oracle file are trying to backup
looks to be about 5 GB plus.

Hello fellow *SMers,
in our small environment we back up 3 WinNT 4.
Thomas,
How about running an ARCHIVE as opposed to a BACKUP? No exclude lists to
worry about - just set it to archive the root directory and all subdirs.
You can give it a short retention mgmt class, which you may need to create
first but its not a big deal.

Gidday people.
A while ago I posted a similar problem and got some resolution via the list
and Tivoli Support.
See below - hope it helps.

that's already been taken? Or will I have to restore the data to somewhere
temporary and back it up again for longer?
Cheers.

Sergio,
the "real" restriction on an ARCHIVE command is that you can only specify
20 objects to be archived, either directories or files. This does not
appear in the v3.7 doco but was present in v3.1 where we first encountered
it.
at was the cause/solution?
Thanks in advance.

See my recent post called "TCPIP Problems - SOLUTION" (posted yesterday).
I had a similar problem which was fixed by a change to the way we startup
the client scheduler task.
