Hi Eric,
Just like Zoltan said, you really need to prevent a kill of TSM. This will
leave the DB2 database in an inconsistent state and thus result in a DB2 crash
recovery which can indeed be a lengthy process. Just use a halt to stop TSM and
the DB2 database will be closed properly.

Hi everybody,
Am I the only one who's getting confused about the patch versions released by
IBM recently? I noticed a 8.1.10.200 SP server and OC release last Friday, but
8.1.11.0 is already out for weeks...
Kind regards,

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to figure out how to create a SQL query to retrieve the amount of
files, per management class, per node in just one query. The ideal output would
be:
Nodename Class1 Class2 Class3
Mynode1 1234
eed to do a pivot (aka crosstab), which I'm
not sure is possible in through the DB2 interface in dsmadmc.
If you run the query w/ "-dataonly=yes -tab" you can import into a spreadsheet
easily and do the pivot there, though.
Hope that helps!

Hi everybody (and IBM in particular),
I noticed TSM 7.1 will be end of support by the end of this year. We are also
running several Data Protection for Lotus Domino 7.1 clients, but no 8.1
version seems to be available. Is this product end-of-life or will a Domino
client be available later this
Eric,
IBM still intends to support Data Protection for Domino after 7.1 goes EOS.
Details on that will be available before 7.1 goes EOS.

Hi everybody,
I need to move a lot of containers to empty a filesystem. The LUN used by this
filesystem will be moved to a new SP server afterwards.
The issue is that the move container process is soo slooow... At the
current rate it will take me weeks to empty one single filesystem (13.
Hi guys,
Removing an obsolete SP node is an automated process in our company. We
recently started to use node replication and I now found that our automation
scripts fail every now and then. Apparently you cannot remove a node when
replication is running. The required remove replnode results in
Hi everybody,
We recently switched to a new server design based on node replication. My
Windows users always used scripts which went through all TSM/SP servers to find
the right one by just trying to connect to them, one by one. As soon as the

Hi everybody,
We are using a Blueprint-like server setup with two servers, using cross node
replication and storage pool protection. I'm not very happy with our protect
stgpool performance (approx. 0.5 TB/h) and I like to compare it with other
users. So if you are managing a server which is usi
