I just finished exporting a linux server changing hardware and decommissioning

We are consolidating tsm 7.1.7 servers.
Going from three to one.
I currently have two shared 3494 libraries.
I would like to take one of those and move it to the last existing server (not
shared).
Can this be done and maintain inventory?
We are finally decommissioning our 3494a libraries and ts1120 drives.
I have approximately 2,000 cartridges to sell on the secondary market, but they
must be erased before sale.
Obviously, we can't use a bulk eraser, as this will render the tapes useless.

We have two ibm 3494a libraries each connected to a separate tsm server.

Could I delete the original library a definition from server 1, and 2, redefine
library a on server 2, share back to server one?
Then manually check the tapes back into the new library a, preserving name,
private, and scratch categories, and redefine devclasses if necessary?
With great sadness, we are shutting down the last of our TSM servers after 26
years.
It has been a fun and interesting journey. Thank you all for the help in the
past, and I hope I have helped a few out there.
Good luck all.

Sounds like you are looking for something in the 3592 class.
We are using ts1120 drives. 300 gB uncompressed, fibrechannel connection 2 gb,
tsm 5 and 6 support them, usable in a manual library.
Don't know about the AIX questions, but don't know why they wouldn't be

Tsm server 6.2.4 on RHEL 6
Tape storage pool on ts1120 tapes, collocation set to group.
Node libprint does not belong to any group. Its data is now on two volumes.
First volume has estimated capacity 1 tB.
It is 1.4% full.
This morning, tsm was migrating its data from disk pool to tape. It pul

What is the access setting on the tape, is it READWRITE? And is status FULL or

Have went through two tries, 1 via google, the other direct through ibm. Get
"page not found" any time I try and download this client.
Can anyone out there either point me to a good download link, or put it
somewhere where I can get it?
Using i.e. 10 64 bit if that makes a different.

I'm about to find out. Just install tsm client 6.4.1.0 and mavaricks. Got to
get the client acceptor running, but then will try some backups and restores.
Any help on getting the acceptor running would be appreciated. Cant find much

How can I get this from tsm?
The problem is I need to restore several directories, back to a machine with a

Take a look at the TSM upgrade guide.
This details the processes for upgrading a 5.x server to 6.x.
It is really more a migration than an upgrade, but essentially, it is a db
export, followed by a db import.
Then you only need to rework your library and stgpool definitions.

Sir:
Will the new library and drives read the old lto3 tapes?
If so, do the server upgrade, mark the currently used tapes read-only, then let
reclamation move your data to newer lto6 tapes.
I have done this through three media changes, and it works well.

What version of tsm server?
I have successfully restored a db from a solaris server to the Z linux
platform. This was version 5.5.2 if memory serves.
IBM doesn't support this, but it does work.

I need to do some testing where a client machine must be two distinct tsm nodes
on different servers; or on the same server but a different domain.
I've been playing with this, but can't seem to get it working.
I want machine client-a backing up to one disk / tape combination, while its
