Is there a definitive recommendation for the best way to lay out TSM DB files on ESS disk? The ESS is raid 5; I have no control over placement. Is it best to do one or two large db "volumes" or many smaller db "volumes". My db is current 59 gig and I will be increasing it to about 100 gig. D

There is an AIX 5.1 64 bit mode tcpip bug you will want the fix for. It causes slow TSM backups. It is currently available as an efix but is suppose to be officially released next week. The apar number is IY36925. It goes on top of Aix 5.1 ML03. The work around is to run AIX is 32 bit mode.
