Hi all,
Doing some testing to prepare for the installation of TSM on Win2K servers
that we will soon be deploying (and to resolve a problem between ADSM and
SMS2), I came across a rather interesting problem. The Tivoli service TEC

Our standard browser is IE and has no problem loading the interface. My
problem has been with the way the interface works in general (at least on
ADSM clients 3.1.6 and 3.1.7). Are you using IE5 or higher?

If you doing a search on the board with the word incremental, you'll find
this kind of discussion has been done a number of times. Incrementals
forever seems to be a fairly common strategy (it is what we use at my
company). As for amount of data backed up, that depends on your backup
strategy.
Interestingly enough, I just completed my first config of ADSM for a
cluster. Although the installation is not clearly documented, I found the
Redbook fairly useful. One warning however: the notes for the options
required for the service install aren't as good in the Redbook. I ended up
using t
Is this also a problem for the 3.1.8 (ADSM) client? I recently set up the
ADSM client for a NT SQL cluster, but the owners for the server are still
gearing up (I suspect that they haven't really taxed the server yet or
finished their app load).

I am doing testing with the TSM client for a similar problem. SMS2 causes
ADSM to Dr. Watson when backing up the registry (NT4 SP6a). Once I remove
the registry backup from the Opt file, it completed successfully. After
trouble shooting with Microsoft, they were unable to find the cause in thei
The resolution for problems I have seen with Veritas' BackupExec tends to
make anything they do somewhat suspect in my eyes. Admittedly, I took over
an implementation project which was supposed to be already to roll out for
install, but the hidden pitfalls and continuing issues are a pain. ADSM
Just curious, since my environment is to large to worry about individual pcs
being backed up, but why are you backing up servers through a workstation
instead of directly? I would exclude any non-local resource from a
workstation and simply depend on the server backup. If I am misinterpreting

I haven't seen it before. It sounds like your email server isn't receiving
the response it expects back, and keeps resending it.

Bad enough I get killed on manual settings, let alone automatic.
