Hello,
What is the process to checkout the tapes for offsite? After the backup
of our production system I want to checkout those tapes to send offsite. Can
anyone please let me know how to accomplish this?
Thanks

How do I figure which ones to send, or which ones were used in the last
backup.
Thanks

If it is an NT script you can do something like

John,
Here is an interesting scenario. What if you took the database backup of
3.7, something bad happened and you had to blow away the server, say you
reloaded WIN NT on the server. Now you upgrade to 4.1.2 and try to restore
3.7 database, it does not work. It would work perhaps if you have 3

Kathleen,
I read your post on ADSM forum regarding the tape IO errors Diana Noble
was having. I am also having the same errors. You mentioned they were
working on some microcode and should be released soon. Did they ever release
it, if so from where can I download it.

Hello
We are using TSM 4.1 on win 2k. We do not have DRM yet. Now the TSM db
gets backed up on tape, and we take that tape offsite. Is there any copy of
that db onsite also. My understanding was that it gets backep up to only one
tape. The tapepool gets backep up to copypool to be shipped off
We use stalkermail, yeah it is funny but works great and very simple.

Steve,
Try this,
select * from libvolumes where status='Scratch'
If you need to see only the volume names
select volume_names, status from libvolumes where status='Scratch'

You can write a batch script to reset tablespaces to end backup when the
backup fails. You would need to query the v$backup and v$datafile tables.

We run the following macro to checkout our tapes. Pipe the output of this

Try powering off and then powering on the drives, or the whole library.

We are using TDP for Oracle with RMAN. There were problems expiring backups

I cannot imagine how people reach 1000 kb or 1000 mb figure. These are

others suggested but how come they justify 1000 kb is bigger than 1024 kb !

Check the device drivers, the proper ADSM device drivers (ADSMSCSI) have to
be loaded and started in order to make the tape drives visible.
