Zoltan,
Have you attempted a Point in Time restore from command line?
That migh
The online page for TDP for Exchange says it supports "Exchange 2003 and
higher" for 32bit Windows, but "Exchange 2007" for 64bit Windows.
What does that mean, if anything, for Exchange 2010 support? Exchange 2010
just became GA in Nov.
Does the current TDP work, sorta work, run at your own risk,
Hi Wanda,
I can't tell you to much about the TDP. But you need to wait long time for a
working TDP for Exchange 2010.
It is so much new in Exchange 2010 so it will take a time for IBM dev. team to
get the TDP working with everything.
My guess it that you need to wait until end of June 2010 until
Wanda,
Should be GA for around June 2010

Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 changed some significant architectural
constructs.
It is not a simple change like Exchange 2003 --> Exchange 2007 was.
One thing to note is that Microsoft will NOT support legacy-style

backups with Exchange Server 2010. That means VSS backups will be th

AFAIK, NQR isn't something you can "pick and choose" - if it was, I would.

When you enter an unrestricted wildcard source file specification on the
restore command and do not specify any of the options: inactive, latest,

Have you looked at the server-side of this situation? You can optimize
for backup or restore but not usually both. While you may slam TBs to
the server in a short window of time, you usually are increasing the
window on the restore-- unless you've thought about it when
architecting.

I suspect this is going to be a boneheaded question, but that never
stopped me before, so here goes:

Hi John,
Beginning with TSM 6.1, ISC is now bundled with AC. There is a single

My 6 boxes are TSM 5.5.3.0 on AIX 5.3.11. The change was to upgrade a driver

migrations went fine but backups were almost non-existent. The e

is there another 64bit server you could use? maybe mount the disks to
this other 64 bit server, do the restore there and then unmount/remount
on the 32 bit server.
The borrowed 64 bit server could perhaps continue to serve its usual
function as well as do the restore, depending of course
Was the TSM server updated with the SDDPCM drivers as well?
Or are the incremental File system backups going to disk (thus using
the SDDPCM driver on TSM server) and the TDP going directly to tape
(either via lan-free or on the TSM server). Check your used mgt class
for the TDP backup.

Of course yes. Fro command line or from GUI.
