Hi Matthew, If it doesn't appear in VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS.. then it won't have a writer and it shouldn't be causing the problem. If this is an LVSA problem, you should call IBM support. You may want to uninstall the LVSA driver..and try the backup as well. But... if this is a production system, y

Which TSM client version do you use? (Full version, like "5.3.4.2", not "5.3") The dump analysis appears edited. For example, the exception type is missing. Can you provide the complete analysis? Is the Microsoft driver verifier running on this system? If so, disable verification for tsmlvsa.sys.

Once you install the Journaling service, the TSM server will have to go through one "old" backup of the host to get things started. This does not mean a FULL backup, it just needs to do a regular incremental where it must scan every item in the directory. So it means one more LONG backup to complet
