Hello All!
I am receiving the error:

The administrator for your system must run TSM and enter the password

Look up the include.fs statement. snapshotcachelocation parameter in

include.fs c: snapshotcachelocation=d:\whatever
include.fs d: snapshotcachelocation=c:\whatever
Goes in the dsm.opt file on that client.

Hello!
I have a disk storage pool set up with a hi=90 lo=70 threshold. The
storage pool filled up to 100%, but didn't begin any migration tasks. Has
anyone ever experienced this problem? After this issue occurred I moved
the threshold to hi=0 lo=0 which caused migrations to kick off at that

You didn't specify what statistical field your "100%" value came from,
but realize that it is the Pct Migr value
Hi Joni,
TSM clients need to store pwds for each stanza defined - on each client,
for each stanza, start a command line sessions for that servername "dsmc
-servername=x" and then do a "q se" to get prompted for the id/pwd,
which then gets stored locally.

I have some nodes that were going to a primary pool that was being

go about removing the data in the DR pool?

The 100% I was referring to was both the Pct Util and Pct Migr fields. I
have looked throughout the activity logs and have found issues where
migration had tried to occur, but at that point in time our temp license
key ran out for edt and acsls. (This is a new environment that we are

Hi People,
We currently have various SQL servers which are being backed up
using TDP for SQL. Currently we are doing full backups on a daily basis,
but with server space being at a premium we have decided to begin
implementing incremental backups alongside full backups.

Assuming mutual exclusivity, the client manuals link has evaporated.

I don't think you are going crazy.. maybe sleeply eyes due to too much
work.
It appears that link is working fine.

Sandra,
You really have jumped in at the deep end haven't you? DB2, Oracle, offsite all at
once.
There is no need to shy away from DB2. Its interface is reasonably straightforward,
and there is a redbook to tell you exactly how to set it up.

Hi,
I am interested in doing mail box level restores on my Exchange server.
I am currently running Exchange 2003 with TSM 5.2.3.1. I also am using

Is anyone out there currently doing backups that allow them to do mail box level

James,
With Exchange 2003 you have a few ways to solve this problem:
1 - Use the Recovery Storage Group feature of Exchange 2003.
Microsoft added this feature specifically for this purpose.
Here is how to get some documentation from Microsoft that explains it.

Moses,
Yes... you have the basic idea. I would recommend adding
a scheduled log backup to this as well. There is a section
in the Data Protection for SQL User's Guide, Chapter 1, called:
"Data Protection for SQL backup strategy considerations"
that explains the different backup strategies and when
