Do not know the answer to how TSM wrires to the pool, but I vaguely
remember that this question has been asked before, so try a search of the

They wonder if this directory should be excluded from backup or not. I

Eric,
Thanks for the hint.
Do you think it would solve the problem when I remove the filespaces and

data is not important for this machine.

I agree completely. The more I read and research about NDMP the more I
dislike it. It doesn't seem very flexible or "disaster" friendly. Also,
in order to do an NDMP backup with an EMC NS 704G, do I just need to

After I received this message, I started investigating my TSM server tape
utilization.
I have to agree that I think this should be called a "bug" not WAD.
I found 128 tapes in FILLING status when I only have 80-nodes (of which 15
go to a non-collocated pool).
Since yesterday, I have been checkin
Never heard of it. You are right, it should never happen.
Expirations are not based on tape integrity, they are based on database
entries in the TSM DB.

I receive the following error when restoring TSM database from a DAT tape

No, it doesn't. The TSM support for the System Object restore doesn't play
nicely with Windows File Protection in Win2K

Tivoli actually issued a warning about that in March.
