Then again, if you configure these important server to directly write to a primary stg
pool, with backupstg set to a copy pool, one backup will write to two destination at
the same time. This will solve the raid 5 overhead and leave you with two copies of
the "most" important data.

Did it a way to get IP number of nodename instead of the name Once in the earlier
version in the actlog we could see the IP , now just get Tcp/ip name.
My Server version is 5.2.3.0 and clients 5.2.3.0
Maybe in a select command from another table ??

But it only works for 5.x.x client versions.

For database backups using TDP Informix, you're in luck. Informix uses a
fixed object name for the database full level-0 backup, so you can configure
it for normal TSM retentions. The archive logs are a different matter. They

file number 97,500 (+/- 10 files each time it fails) complaining with;

Keep in mind that Data Protection for Informix is
an API which implements the Open Group Backup Services
application program interface (Open Group XBSA) functions.
Data Protection for Informix does not provide a CLI or GUI
because the interface is provided from Informix.

Exactly what command are you using to perform this restore - and is it a
subdirectory in a filesystem with lots of other directories? Are you
witnessing any substantial 'thinking time' before the server sends any
data to the client?

Matt - Do 'ulimit -a' in the process C shell (or equivalent command in another shell)
to fully assure that your virtual storage is unlimited, as you believe.
If system virtual storage were actually exhausted, you'd be seeing a lot of surrounding
the restore command being used is;

Yes, unless you specify a different port number via the TCPADMINPORT
option (in which case, the server needs a similar TCPADMINPORT options set
for it).
