Upgraded my AIX TSM server to AIX 5.1 and TSM 5.2.1.3, about 3-weeks ago.
I get an email from a user about the TSM server not responding, during the

I checked the server Activity Log and here is what I found for the time
frame in question:

I believe that for clusters you need to specify the /SQLSERVER= parameter of
the virtual SQL server name in the cluster. The default is to logon to the
"local" instance, which on a cluster there isn't one.

Happy New Year Len,
I need to upgrade itsm 4.2.1 to itsm 5.2 also. My environment is AIX

Have you ever done a restore on the itsm database? I need to w

Richard,
ACO5091E also is displayed when the password stored
is not correct. Try this:
1. Add "CLUSTERNODE YES" to the DSM.OPT file.
2. Reset the password on the TSM Server for the node you
are using for DP for SQL.
3. Issue a command that connects to the TSM Server
specifying the /TSMPASSWO
Hi Joe,
Did you get this straightened out yet?
The data to back up is sent from the SQL server
to Data Protection for SQL. And so, Data Protection
for SQL does not "decide" what data to back up.
The SQL Server determines this.
It is strange that the SQL Enterprise Manager backup tool

Looks like there is probably some data that is lost on that tape, unless
you have a copy storage pool...
To get around that you will want to take the recl up to 100 to pause

if you have a copy storage pool,
and this tape is in the primary pool

Have you tried the 5.2.2.0 client ?
I just pulled them and they list Netware 6.5 as supported while 5.2.1.x
does not !

Yes. There are readme files associated with both server and client. Please consult the
monthly TSM FAQ (which was posted this morning, BTW).

There is a beta SMS patch you have to install. Here is the link.
http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/2967135.htm
And you need to make sure you are running the 5.2.2 client since that
is the only one IBM supports with Netware 6.5.

Anyone out there using the IBM 3582 LTO library?? How are you doing
vaulting? Getting tapes into and out of the library? I'm getting ready to
start a contract with this hardware and using Autovault.

Has anybody got an SQL, that can list all VOLUMES, and highlight (either
showing the element number or something) those that are in the library?
This report would be useful to see quickly if a list of tapes are already
in the library - or which tapes in the list are not and need to be checked
in.

Another way to do it is live. If your utilization is that low AND

Hi there,
Recently we bought an 3584 library to replace our 3583 library. The 3583
