We have all four drives chewing up tapes on regular intervals. To make a rough estimate I would say that this happens once or sometimes twice a month and all drives are effected in the same way. I have no idea if this is the normal wear due to lots of mounts. We always check out the tape which

Make sure IBM has removed the cleaner blocks from the drives. If tapes are being eaten, I'd say it is probably poorly adjusted pressures in the drive somewhere or something isn't in proper alignment BUT I'm NOT an IBM technician so I really shouldn't say... Koen, Did you try the command or script in a DOS-box. If yes make sure you can read the output of the script or command via a log. Do this by adding a "> script.out" to your command only this must itself be coded in a script because otherwise the scheduler would not understand the complete command

Koen, The first thing you should check is to make sure the command script is even being run. A good way to test this is to put a command in script that generates some type of output on the local machine that you can check. That way you can see if the script is even being executed. For example:

Ken, The SQL Server will not allow this backup to be applied to the previous full backup you restored. In other words, SQL Server is rejecting this restore attempt. Did you specify /RECOVERY=NO on the full restore (if using the command-line interface)? Or un-check the Recovery checkbox in the GUI
