Geoff,
I am running several Tru64 clients, without any problems.
CLI works ok ?
Have you tried to redirect the GUI client to another X server ?

Hi guys
This is the TSM backup log I have set up for my customers.

Allan,
Hello,
I'm asked to evalute TDP for SAP R3 and didn't found clear statements in the
readme of the evaluation copy of the product, whether the software works with
Oracle 64bit versions on Solaris and HP-UX. It seems, that 64bit isn't
supported yet.
Are there more information or even own experien

Jim,
What have your network people said when they ran a packet analyzer on that
switch? Also, have you tried running a crossover cable from your TSM server
to one client to see if that works? It might be a way to prove that the
problem doesn't lie with your systems.

I can't speak for Veritas/Legato/ArcServ but Backup Exec used to be Veritas
and I think is back to Seagate, I can answer for. The con's would be bad
tape usuage, but that can be a pro when you send it off site for DR. The
pro would be total restore without the hastle of versioning off anything.
Jim,
What is your server platform?
I have seen issues with the NIC card being on a slower bus in an AIX box
cause problems.Once we moved the NIC card to a 40 MB/sec bus we were fine.

This is not what happens when you try to order Tivoli. It is based on
the number of processors in the server. The server code is not free. I
would get your Tivoli rep to check, because this is not what I was told
by Tivoli.

Mark is absolutely correct. This is an issue we have as well. To solve the

Hi,
I can tell you about Arcserve...
With Arcserve you do a full / incrementals unless the server is small
then just full. So you see a lot of space waste.
There are about 11 month, 4 year and 7 week tapes so adds up to 22
tapes per server (there is no extra copy for when a tape goes bad).

Hi,
A backupset wastes a lot of space (one node, one tape).
DRM and Archiving is the easiest way to handle this, because then you
don't need to keep track of what is on which tape. But if you do not
have DRM, then I would recommend an EXPORT.
With an EXPORT you can export the active and/or inac
