Kathy,
1) if you use either a different node name or a different filespace for the
backups of the new /upgraded DB you can issue a "delete filespace" on the
TSM.
2) you can create a new filespace where the backups go to and then,
according to your backup policy go back to 1) after your defined

Pl. check the hardware error log - if any problem reported as Return code=1 means some problem either in hardware or at operating system side. Secondly check environment variables set correctly -refer quick start book.

Hello
Try to run the TSM Central Scheduler service as a local administrator
instead of the system account. I've had this problem with TDP for Oracle.

Another way to copy all scripts via an administrative client is the following
command
q scr * f=macro > filename
When you have access to the second server via the same workstation also with an
administrative client you can execute:
macro filename
Hope this helps,

I am at my disaster recovery site, and I did a restore db, but forgot
the commit. It is a moot point now, because I restarted the restore,
but is there any way to commit the restore after forgetting the
commit=yes on the command?
I didn't see a reply on this. Here's my two cents:
1. Compression is not encryption and there are only a limited
number of methods. Once broken, the compressed data is
as clear as clear text. Just stops the casual hackers and
snoopers.
2. SSH and other such products won't secur

I have a couple of clients here, which I am running a scheduled
incremental from the client scheduler service, but appears to ignore the
options file and the include/exclude statements within it. However when
I attempt an incremental from the client itself, the backup seems to work
as intended.
A reminder to everyone posting questions here:
PLEASE remember to include in your post your CLIENT and SERVER platform and

If you are planning to upgrade your TDP to Version 2.2 (plus you need a
patch), it has a utility called TDPOSYNC. It lets you remove backup pieces
from the TSM DB, even if they are no longer in the RMAN catalog (a not
uncommon occurrence, we've found).

This works great however my TSM 4.1.3 for Windows does not document the
f=macro option. Such a simple solution but it is not documented. Thanks
for this and all previous replies.

Hi:
Does anyone know of any TSM or tivoli related software features that are supported on

Run q inclexcl from the command line. You will see that some files are
listed as Excluded by the Operating System. HIBERFIL.SYS and PAGEFILE.SYS
are included.
I believe these are included in a registry key that lists files to exclude
from backup.

Yep. They got me with that one, too. It's a not-very-well-documented

The client now excludes those automatically. So you get "duplicate entry",

You can see it if you start the command line version of the client and do "q

First a question, how has this value based pricing been received by the

The rebind only changes the management of the objects. It does not move the
