clients (75 NT and 25 Unix) with estimated disk space 3 TB.
Estimated 70 percent of that size is being backup and 40 percent of that
size is being archive.

Excuse me but from what I understand there is NO Exchange backup api that
will do brick level backups. Products that do brick level backups are using
MAPI calls which are NOT Exchange calls. They are left overs from Microsoft
Mail. So keep your FUD to yourself!

normal stuff.

You could keep a console for the tsm server up because just about every time
it tries to mount a tape it lets you know.
Another idea and I am not 100% sure on this but can't you set the clients to
prompt for tapes?
There is also the whole queue screen that may help also this is on our 3494.

Each File 1K in the DB (don't forget how many generations!).
The Log about 10% of the DB Size, i drive a larger recovery log, near 30%,
performance & overflow!
Example:
100 Files=100K
10% of the Files change 10K

I have upgraded a few Windows (2Kpro) boxes from the 3.7.2 TSM client
to the 4.1.2.19 one.
The new client seems to ignore the Client-Option set assigned to these
clients?
In our case, it ignores all the EXCLUDE options and proceeds to backup
the entire hard-drive.
Anyone aware of this one?
