for the cut and paste part, you have me puzzled ... . What you need to do
to populate the db is use the TDS loader, which actually uses the TSM OBDC

For the DB2 part, yes, DB2 V5.2 is supported.

Yes, I could have done that. But that would have meant the loss of almost
2 day's worth of data, which is a lot on a heavily used TSM server.
Hi collegues,
We have a 3575 library with 4 drives. My problem is we
have many volumes in filling status. I tried to do a
"move data" from the filling tapes to disk stg pool
and after that, to do a migration to library. But I
found the same problem, that is, the tape pool is
taking scratch tapes

This is fixed in 3.7.4.0, available for download from the appropriate
maintenance directory.

Yes that populates the database with data. But it doesn't work unless the DB
is setup first. I.E. the appropriate tables are created in the database
where the data is put via the ODBC connection..

Hi all
Is this strange or am I just dumb:

It took a process of comparing the different cards on the Emulex web
page. Since its a short card with only 2 jumpers, it was an lp8000. After
running cfgmgr, an lsdev -C shows lpfc0 as Emulex LP8000 Fibre Channel

Anyone care to share their procedures for monitoring Rman tdp backups?
I'm trying to figure out a way to determine how much data gets backed up
per session.
Unfortunately( or maybe fortunately) our DBA's execute the scripts that
kickoff rman so I reall can't figure a way to get daily stats.
Hello,
your adapter needs to be configured as "fcs0" device
for it to work with the TSM smit menus.
Since your adapter is defined as an lpfc0 device, this tells
me that you have loaded the "emulex" device driver.
The Emulex device driver corresponds to the following filesets :

James,
In the environment that I am in, one way RMAN backups are monitored is by
scripts that the DBAs create to let them, and myself, know when backups
fail. A page is sent to us, as well as an email. Hope this helps.

I thought I had replied to this, but I guess the list didn't forward

When we had this problem (not marking the backuppieces as inactive),
it was because the environmental variables were not set when allocating
the channel for delete. It made all the difference in the world.
For example:

always had the option of specifying a management class on an include

Hello,
I have a batch job that used to run quite well on the ADSM 3.1 server.
After upgrading to version 3.7 the batch job stopped working. I just
realized today that the script was failing because the server was asking
a question:
THIS PROCESS MAY TAKE ALONG TIME OR USE A LOT OF RESOURCES.
Gerarld,
OK. Indeed, you need to create the tables first. For that purpose, you've
normally got SQL command files (there is another name for this type of code
...) that will generate these tables. They also should come with the
product.
