Hi,
does TSM (ADSM) support backup of Novell's NSS Filesytem ?
If so, which Client/Server Versions (3.1,3.5,3.7,4.1) are needed ?

As i see it, the easyst way is to run an ARCHIVE instead of using backup.
Then can specify your own management class, so you can keep the data as
long as you desiere and you won't interfear with your normal backup

I hope this will help you.

I suspect that your option/sys file, for the client program is not set correct,
try and lock in the baclient directory for an *.opt file, and se it the nodename
option is set to your computer name or as the same as the node is defined in the
TSM server.
Ex:
If you clicke on "Backup" then you see a list box with "Incremental
(complete)". You can select "Always backup" to force a backup of all files,
including those which have not been changed since the last incremental backup.
However this way you create for all files an inactive version on TSM.
And
Suppose a file has been backup stgpool once from primary pool TAPEP to
copypool TAPEC successfully.
My question is: if the file is detected damage while reading primary pool
TAPEP during TAPEC reclaimation, will ADSM keep TAPEC for that file image?
Thanks in advance.

Chris,
I've seen this behavior prior to availability of the levels of server and
client that supported long file names in Novell. It had to do with
collisions in converting the file/directory name to the DOS 8.3 format and
the order in which the files/directories were processed during the restore.
Make sure that you read closely the doc supplied by IBM on going from B1A's
to E1A's. It is a major change and the ADSM admin we had when we did it
didn't implement it correctly and we are still trying to recover. If you
don't have it let me know and I will send it to you.

Indeed - that's the sad reason it cannot participate in SAN Library Sharing as
can some other libraries. :-(
