The library manager needs access to the control path anf data path as it
mounts tapes and reads labels. Storage agents only need access to the data
path because they only read and write data.

yes you can and is highly suggested to have Server and Storage agent at the
exact same version. And yes, you can have a 6.2.3.1 client on a Storage
Agent node running 6.3.3.100.

Configuration :
Server A - library client / Data Manager
Server C - Library manager
Client is registered on Server A
Storage agent is configured to connect to server A (devconfig)
Storage agent MUST be defined on BOTH server A and server C
And, last but not least, Paths are defined on Server
We did the same thing with both backups. Both of them went faster but the OS
backup went from 30 GB/hr to over 130 GB/hr. The DB backup went from about 45
GB/hr to around 65 GB/hr.

If you are using IBM LTO2 drives, only the Atape driver or its Solaris
