These new events are for v7 server not v6 server; it is normal there are

Hello,
having ANS messages in the server activity log is actually
a known defect with TSM servers (versions 5.5, 6.1 and 6.2).
See here for the description and fix levels.

The ANS message appears in the activity log if the corresponding ANE
message does not exist in the server's message catalog. This can occur if
your TSM client is newer, and issues messages that do not exist in the
older server's message catalog.

It's an interesting point you make. In our (predominantly Windows)

ANS4251W: System Writer's file 'filename': not found.
ANS4083

My question would be: What are ANS messages doing in the server Activity Log?
From everything I know, client-initiated messages conveyed to the TSM server
should be logged in the Activity Log as ANE messages, where they can be
distributed to event logging receivers. I can't recall
On my TSM v5.5 server I have various clients that generate messages which
end up in the server activity log. Depending on whether these messages

So a SELECT on the ACTLOG table shows that a message starting ANE4941

I think the activity log is normally held inside the TSM database not as a

If you're concerned about your activity log eating up too much space in your
