so, i assume notespool has a longer retention period than ntclass.. no?
TSM use the longest retention mgtclass to manage directories.
You can solve with :
DIRMC ntclass on the TSM client configuration file.

Try to register a node with the name of the deleted one and then proceed
with the "-virtualnodename=oldnodename" option. you must specify the target files
or directory. You will be asked for the oldname password.
