Hello everybody,
I tried restoring a windows 2008 R2 server image (c: partition) and
ran into a problem. Here's what I did (according to the field guide
"TSM Recovery Techniques using Win PE Environment"):
- Created Image Backup of c: partition with VSS (ESX vSphere 4.0 VM)

Hello everybody,
I'm a bit confused about the upgrade path from TSM 6.1 to TSM 6.2 when the
Admin Center is installed on the same host as the TSM server itself. To be
precise, I don't understand how to upgrade the Admin Center without
uninstalling the whole TSM Server. That is because AC in TSM 6.
Hi Richard,
I had a similar problem (except that the OS was Windows) and the following
article helped me solving the issue:

Hello,
I had exactly the same problem since upgrading to 6.1.2.1. Today, I upgraded
to 6.1.3.0 but it the problem still persisted. Following Jörg's hints I also
"reactivated" report creation successfully. Thanks to Jörg for sharing your
expirience!
That's definitly an annoying bug in TSM...

Hello,
our 3583 Library has a lot of problems (but with the robot not with the
drives!). We also have an old (but working) 4560SLX library with LTO1
drives. Is it possible to remove the LTO2 drives from the 3583 and put them
into the 4560SLX? Is that possible?
Kind regards,
Stephan
Hello everybody,
we have a Windows 2003 Server with TSM Client 6.1 on which we now also

Hello everybody,
I'm trying to set up HSM (TSM 5.5.2) for our Windows fileserver. For
testing purposes I've created a folder c:\temp\hsmtest and put a file into
that folder. I set up a hsm job for that folder and ran it whicht worked as
expected: The file has been moved into the tsm archive and h

Hello,
our IBM 3583 library seems to have a problem using a certain port. Sometimes
we get a "slot obstructed" error message because the library tries to put a
tape into a slot which is already filled with another tape. Looking into the
librarys slot information reveals that it assumes this slot i

is there a way to do move a dbsnapshot from one volume to another? I want to
get rid of a tape which we identified as the cause of library problems

I wonder why _some_ of my dbsnapshot-type drmvolumes can be queried with "q

Hello!

unsure what happens when the basefile expires.

Hello everybody,
we have an applications which changes the creation time (ctime) of some big
files it uses, even though they are not really being recreated or changed at
all. The modification time and filesize don't change, just the ctime!
Because of this changed ctime, TSM backs up these files ev

Hello everybody,
please excuse this off-topic question, but I can't find a proper SAN mailing

anybody knows a similar list concerning (especially Cisco) SAN related
topics...
Any recommandation is highly appreciated!

Justino,
sounds like my robocopy suggestion. ...just that you use TSM instead of the

to do do the migration "the professional way" with TSM and not with some
free of charge tools. :-)
But you could use robocopy to check

I would also recommend the robocopy way! Run a robocopy job transferring all
files to the new volume. That may run even for days but if you run it again

Hello everybody,
I am wondering if you can fully restore a destroyed virtual machine which
has been file-backed-up with VCB? For example, I have a Windows fileserver

deletes the SAN-LUN on which the VMFS resides... ;-) When I

Just a dumb question: Is there a possibility to do the reclamation of the
primary tape pools via the cached data in the disk pools?
