Ah that age old problem. I have got around this by writing a AIX script that I run daily which interogates that ATL to find of the following : * Number of SCRATCH volumes in ADSM * Number of PRIVATE volumes in ADSM * Number of tapes in library that can be checked into ADSM *

How to find out what tape's a client data are on ?

2001-03-01 Thread Sharp, Neil (London)
I have a frustrating situation whereby if I perform a client restore it may call a tape from off-site. This tape is then recalled (usually 4 hours) and then placed in the library. The restore then continues but then stalls again requesting another tape. What I need to find out up front are all the

TSM and the last access date on a file

Does anybody have any experience of running ADSM and Legato concurrently on a RS6000 running AIX? I have already thought about the contention issues with the drives and the processor. What I need to know about is there any known issues with the O/S? Thanks for your time Neil Sharp Merrill Lynch
