I've had experience with TSM together with Legato and Backup Exec. In both
cases TSM always backed up every file after a Legato or Backup Exec backup.
I expect you'll see the same behavior after a Netbackup backup.

I just used export/import to move a server from AIX to W2K. I did not get
the storage pools , but that may be because I did not have the device
classes named the same. I also did not get the scripts. But all other

I did not export files because this would have take too

I would greatly appreciate you setting it up on ftp. I tried the

My IBM rep was the first person I contacted. However, since TSM 3.7 is no

Can I obtain TSM 3.7 Server for AIX. I have a system that I was about to
upgrade to TSM 5.1. Well crashed and I need to restore the TSM database
with 3.7 before I can upgrade. Any ideas. Thanks.

Once a process begins which requires a tape that TSM "thinks" is available, that
process will not end until the tape is mounted. I'm assuming that the tape was

Eric,
It is correct that the user exit does not get the currently active log. I'm
not sure that backing up the currently active log is useful. It may be in an
inconsistent state. This will result in the ROLLFORWARD DATABASE failing.

My memory is of a project about three years ago. A client was migrating from
Legato to ADSM and left Legato on the systems for a while, until they got used
to ADSM. What I remenber is, Legato changed attribute flags every time it ran,
this caused ADSM to backup files which had not actually chang

Neil,
What you want to do is called cloning. You can get instructions on how to do this at
http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/rs6k/techbrowse/. Once there click on your OS
level, type the word clone in filter
selected categories and click on the filter button. For example for AIX 4.2 and 4.
One cause can be that the copypool maxscratch limit has been reached. The
maxscratch sets the maximum number of scratch volume that can be used by the
stroage pool.
