Matthew,
I had similar TSM DB backup issues and found this TechNote. I followed it and
it fixed the slow backups.

seems to be able to help us with what our optimal settings should be.
As you can imagine we are not in a happy place at the moment. I would
definitely open a PMR. There are known issues about administrative task
performance.

Does anyone know how to write a script, or can point me to something that will
issue TSM commands from an administrator session shortly after the server is
restarted?
Any help would be appreciated.

We have a fairly large TSM database, 544GB with 466GB in use. I am fairly
certain that with so little freespace, automatic, online reorganization of the
larger tablespaces will not happen, but I have no way of verifying if TSM is
even trying.
I appreciate any feedback.

need to decide which you want to
handle the automatic reorganizations and then set the other one off.
And, yes, this technote is the only place that the new REORGBEGINtime and
REORGDURation are described.
Any other insights into the workings of DB2 would be great!
Thansk,

y DB2 experience has come since installing TSM Version
6.1, despite being told repeatedly at Pulse, when V6 was announced, that I
would not need to be a DB2 admin to administer TSM.

If you remove the COI and DE directories and the install.bin file and start
again, you should be successful.

Does anyone know if there is a manual or redbook about upgrading from TSM V4.1 to
V4.2? Are there any horror stories or is it pretty much cut and dry?
