We just moved one of our Netstore machines to 3.7 (on the way to 4.1)

ADSM or TSM? What level client?
A while ago I had similar problems with Solaris clients hanging in the
middle of thier sessions. If they were writting to tape then they would
hold onto them until I restarted the server.
This is normal for the 4.x series client I believe. One is used for control
data the other actually sends the data.

You may want to try removing and reinstalling the service with the dsmcutil
command.
As to why it stopped in the first place look in the nt event viewer also
review your activity log on the server. Also look in the dsmsched.log and
dsmerror.log if you have not.

Try stopping the schduler service, resyncing your password for that node

In short, you cannot restore to different platforms. You must restore with
the same platform and filesystem as you backed up with. There are some
exceptions like the FAT filesystem working across the PC world but with Unix
you are going to be stuck restoring back to another HPUX machine.

If you installed the ODBC drivers during the client install they probably
didn't take. Same thing happened with me. Try re doing the client install
but this time only select the TSM ODBC driver and nothing else. That worked
for me on NT4.
