Yes. And you can forget the consultancy and the arguments about backups
not being archives etc, the keeping hardware and software to run the old
system etc. Have been through all that with the business.
Data needs to be retained offsite for 25 years. Its the industry my

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to figure out how to configure a script that will output the
total GB backed up and total GB archived per domain within a 24 hour time
period. I already have something similar, but it totals all of the data
together and I would like to break it down more by the domain the
I get frustrated when I see something like this:

I'm not sure I understand the question based on the described symptom. I
would expect to see ANS1497W if you have INCLUDE or EXCLUDE statements
with duplicate file specs. In this case, INCLEXCL 3 and 4 have identical
file specs, so you got the message.

Well, remember that under windows... upper case and lower case are the same
unless there are multiple files with various combinations of upper and lower

type file exists. So probably it is more so they are closing a hole (unless

1- you are right, when you use TSM archives (rather than backup sets),
you can more easily migrate your data from one tape to another, you
can even retrieve the data if you even need to move away from TSM
(though 10 years worth of quarterly backups might be a lot of data by
then).
2- 10 != 25 :)

And there is no way to migrate a backupset to other media. Once you create
it that's it. Not like migrating your storage pools from one tape
technology to another, there is no such thing as a COPY BACKUPSET command.

TSM is with us for more than 10 years now, if you have migrated your
archived data from earlier tape system to LTO1..and then to LTO4, when LTO10
is Ready, you will keep migrating your archive data, so the 25 years could
be completed.
So, when you have such a requirement you must think your

Hi Mate,
I have just recreate your problem on my Linux machine.
You are probably running a server script that renames the filespace or you
mount / to another directory like /1.
Run rename filespace on the server and rename your filespace back to /
