Yep, this is what we are planning on trying. I'll update if not
successful.

Greetings,
I am trying to understand the behavior I am seeing in a Lanfree
client. This is a TSM 5.3.5.0 Lanfree client, with a TSM 5.3.4.0 AIX
client, connecting to a TSM 5.4.2.0 AIX server. The TSM server in turn,
is a library client, and gets it's tape mounts from another TSM 5.4.2.0

The capitalization of "SQL Server" would imply Microsoft SQL Server,
which in turn implies Windows OS?
I do wonder, as Microsoft continues to tighten up access control, and
adds "features" to its file system semantics, that at some point the TSM
client may "lock" a file by requesting some form of

the drives/directories needing backup and backup the share from another

We did an upgrade from 5.2.x.x to 5.4.2.0 on AIX. IBM recommended we
take the scenic route through 5.3.0 then 5.4.0 and finally the latest
patch. I would suggest you call the friendly TSM support team and
confirm that is what you should do.
The read.me files are hard to piece together...

We just upgraded to TSM 5.5 server on AIX 3.5, is there a client for NT4
that will connect? An hour of searching on IBM and Google did not help.
Thank you,

Hi list,
I need an older version of firmware, Drivecode Level 38D0 or 3434, for Ultrium
LTO2Gen2 drives and 51TB for LTO3 tape drives.
The library is a LTO IBM 3582. For the library itself, I need a firmware level
2.11 and 305B.
Where can I get these older versions? I couldnĀ“t find it at IBM

I don't have any specific advise about Mirapoint, but I would be looking
for something like a syslog or ndmpd.log file (on the Mirapoint).
In most ndmp troubleshooting, most of the most useful information tends
to come from the datamover's side. Sometimes it is necessary to tell

We are running tsm server 5.2.10. Would like to upgrade to at least 5.4.2

Must we upgrade to some incarnation of 5.3.x first, or will tsm make the larger
version jump?
I tried to read the readmes, and never actually found the text on the tsm site.

The way you phrase this suggests that you will be moving tape drives
from your current library to the new library. The suggested sequence
below is based on that assumption.
1.Connect new library.
2.Verify that O
And actually, the steps to define the volumes in the new library is even
simpler. TSM knows what's what as far as volumes go so you can issue
the following three commands to get the old volumes checked into the new
library:

Tsm> checking libvol libnam
I teach our Level 1 students that having fewer domains rather than more

Rather than splitting between OS, I would make Policy Domains for File
