Great discussion. One thing that some people have a hard time comprehending with TSM is that its not like other backup solutions like Veritas that can tell you a yes or no answer and have it be accurate. The fact that TSM is a living system and that the backups may run throughout a 24 hr period,

Depending on your hardware setup for the VMWare environment that could be very beneficial. Seperating the new admin console is a big plus since in my experience, it has been a resource hog. You actually have me interested in trying the same thing. I think I'll be asking our guys to do the same.

Hi Peter, Your last question is probably solved by using the "NWEXITNLMP NO" option in your DSM.opt files. That means you don't have to press a key to make the TSM client close. I can't help too much with cluster backups using "dsmc sched" because we use DSMCAD. It's been very stable for us. H
