Hi Srinath,
Try
chfs -a size=+G
So something like
chfs -a size=+50G /apps/tsm
Will increase the /apps/tsm filesystem by 50Gb (if there is enough space in
the Volume Group.)

Hi,
I am getting an error stating that
"The percentage of available space in the file system /apps/tsm/file is

Hence, we allocated 100GB of space to the Unix server where /apps/tsm/

It may not be a silly question as this is the first time I have tried to
load a new tape in the new 3582 unit.
We have an older 3582 unit that uses LTO2 tapes. For that unit I check
in tapes using the IO slot on the right side of the unit, loading the
tape with the barcode facing out (towards the
Maybe this is a silly question, but have you placed the tape
in the I/O slot correctly? With the barcode facing in?

Referring to topic "Using options with commands" in the client

Please remove me from your mailing list.
When using ALL-LOCAL in the domain statement of a client option set it
doesn't seem to work.
When I issue "dsmc q opt" from the client the domain states "ALL-LOCAL"
instead of the translated local filesystems.
The system is AIX. The local dsm.opt file contains "DOMAIN /" to back
up the root di

Hi,
I am trying to understand what TSM does with reclamation of large files.
We have a filepool of 10G-volumes and I see the TSM-server moving a 64G
file during reclamation. This file is from an Exchange-backup.
It seems to me that TSM moves the whole file to other volumes and not

Hello all,
within our first TSM 5.3 server is running on level 5.3.3.4 under AIX.
ISC is at level 6.0.1 and AC is 5.3.3.0 on Windows.
Whenever there's a need to modify the volume history (STGNEW, STGDEL,
TSM server database backup) I'm receiving the TSM server warning

Try auditing the volumes. If they are offsite, you will have to make them
readonly or readwrite. We have had volumes like these before - it doesn't
even mount the tape, it just fixes something in the database.

I'm not sure if you can do this with a select. One thing you could try
would be an export node, with filedata=ALLActive and preview=yes.

Hello,
TSM 5.1.6.2 running on AIX 5.1 ML04
I have 3 LTO2 volumes, which belong to a copypool and they currently are in
vault state. Pct Util on 2 of the volumes is 0 and 1 of them is 0.1. When I
query contents on any of these 3 volumes I don't get anything on them.

Ahh, I see. I knew that TSM tables were built 'on the fly'; but had't
realised that the events table is essentially unbounded, hence the need
for the 'special' behaviour.

Hi Everyone,
I am having major issues trying to backup my NAS filesystems. I seem to
be getting a lot of the messages below. I am trying to use NDMP backups
with my EMC NS704G. I am still trying to find what this exact issue is,
but was wondering if anyone has ever seen this before? Any help i
Nope, see the explanation in 'Why does it Work that Way (Andy
Raibeck).pdf' from TSM Symposoium in Oxford 2005.
"Events table is calculated at runtime..." etc

I have a Windows host that was moved between domains.
It is still trying to backup a directory into an old management class.
There is no statement in the option file or in any global option set.
The problem is the files in the directory are going to the new default
management class- 37 days and
Odd, how can it be that select * from events returns different to select

'special'?

Hi,
TSM does not really care about Windows domains.
(Dont change your DNS- or IP-address on your TSM server, if you change,
remember to change TcpServerAddress in dsm.opt on the clients)
