I'm pretty sure that the Web GUI does not prefill its list of what you can
backup based on the options file. It instead prefills it with a list of local
drives. The restore unlike the backup windows prefills its list based on what
filespaces have been backed up on the TSM server.

Steve,
For a standard restore, the Exchange database files (.EDB and .STM)
are replaced during a restore. They ARE NOT written to a temporary
location.
However... if you are restoring into the Recovery Storage Group,
they are created anew... in a different location. You can point

There are also TDP's involved, so a backupset is out of question.
The bandwith does not allow to run a monthly 'full' backup by using other TSM

So only an export remains a possible solution.

Look at the server VOLHISTORY; export tapes are recorded there.
I believe you will find that if an EXPORT spills to a second tape, the
second tape is recorded as "vol seq #2" of the export, not as an
independent tape like storage pool tapes are. I believe TSM has to
start reading at Vol seq #1.
Thanks for the answers Wanda.
Exporting all of the active backup data of all the servers in 1 command isn't

Hi,
My exprience is that it is the dsmc programme that runs the scheduled jobs,
usually when things get "odd" we restart this scheduler process on the client.
dsmcad is the deamon required to run the web interface to do backup and
