Hi all,
short question ;-)
is it possible to send the failed/missed reports from the Operational Reporting
tool to more than one email-address?
If yes - How can we do this?
We need to send the mails to the node admin and his deputy.
Thanks in advance!

Hello All
We have an IBM LTO1 3600R20 model with TSM 5.1.5 on Win2k AS. the
problem is I can't open the door of the library; it displays "the

Does anybody have any idea?

Hi Dave. Now for a silly question - where is supportutil.cmd located? I

Anyone know what version of the tsm client I should be installing on a

Any special considerations? This is new to us.
My tsm server is 5.1.1.6.

I actually do the opposite - I send snapshots offsite and leave DBBs
onsite - the reason being that you can roll forward recovery logs on a dbb
but not on a dbs - if you lose your db due to non-disaster reasons, it is
quite possible that you may still have the recovery logs and can roll
forward.
Hi all
Is there anyone out there that got the LINK to download the Windows PE ...
I want to use it for my Windows servers ...

Hello All!
I just thought I would ask what everyone's standards are concerning
database backups and database snapshots. My thoughts on this are to keep
14 days worth of database backups which will be sent offsite and to allow
DRM to delete old dbb. I was then thinking of taking dbsnapshots once
In the TSM for Windows client manual, look at the topic "Considerations for NT,

It explains what Windows privileges you must have to do backups.

unless you have the Windows rights:

We have 2 3494 libraries, one local and one remote, and our auditors would

As I recall, when you change it to ROLLFORWARD, it will ask to do a full
DB backup right away.
So it might be better not to do it while RECLAMATION is running, or
EXPIRATION, or if you don't have a tape drive free to do the DB backup.
But client backups running shouldn't be a problem, and there

I use this formula:

xc = unix clients
nc = netware clients
nas = nas clients

s = tsm instances
u = upgrades per year (O/S, DB, TSM, etc)
pm = platform migrations
I agree. There have been numerous discussions and recommendations to avoid
TSAFS and continue to use TSANDS/TSA600.

Also, in the setup section of your 3583, you must tell it to use

Just remember if you change this you will have to re-label all your TSM

TSM uses to label the tapes. If you change this setting any/all existing TSM

Have you tried running dsmserv in the foreground?
Just open a command prompt and navigate the the directory with the dsmserv
executable, then just run it. This way, you can see what errors are
causing the server to stop.
