Does anyone have experience with running two different versions of TSM,
e.g. TSM 5.1 and TSM 5.2, on the same machine? If so, I'd like to talk

The attached file is a c program I have written, and am still working

TSM for the filesets and then the files backed up for that host,
then removes all files in the TSM list from the local list. Finally

Hi,
We are upgrading our systems and have questions.
We are currently at AIX 4.3.3 on the target server and AIX 5.2 on the RMAN
server.
We are currently at Oracle 8.1.7.4 on the target server and Oracle 9.2.0.5
on the RMAN server.
We are currently at TDP 2.2.0.2 and TSM 4.2.1 (client) and TSM 5.1

Hello,
TSM-server AIX 5.2, TSM 5.1.7.3, 3494 library 3590 drives. No tapes are
checked out of the library, data is copied to a remote 3494 library
Our database is growing very fast. For some reasons we have 30 clients that
archives every 4 weeks a lot of small files. In my opinion it is filling up

Hi,
There is a Q article on how to restore master on microsoft's website. Basically you
have to put down a blank master with the rebuildm.exe utility. Then you can start the
sql server interactively (ie. Not through the service) and recover your real master
through tsm. Once done, you can st
Hi all
I'm testing a SQL 2000 server restore ...
I restored the OS (win2000) + the system objects
Now I want to restore my SQL databases ... but the MASTER DB is not there
cause it's exclude in my windows client dsm.opt file. So I am not able to

This is probably not the most elegant way of doing things, but I think this
will work until your enhancement request is granted! Basically build 2

on the client.

You should be able to create a PRIMARY STGPOOL named TAPEPOOL and a
COPY STGPOOL named COPYPOOL with both of them having a sequential access

same library. On the stgpool TAPEPOOL definition you set the

One gotcha I've experienced with this. Make sure you are running it from
the right directory. Here's what I run to get my web client working on
systems with multiple instances of TSM. The "TSM2" directory is my working

yes, we ran runfile dsmserv.idl.

I don't know whether there are different causes of the 'cuGetBackQryResp:
Server aborted txn' error on the client, but we see it at irregular
intervals.
In our case, it is accompanied by an ANR0918E message on the server. Eg
DSMERROR.LOG on client:

I am having a problem backing up certain files in a UNIX filesystem. It
seems to backup most of the files but it skips over certain files. Does
anyone have any ideas of what I could try to resolve this issue? I also
can backup them up manually, and no excludes exist.
great idea ..

Hello,
I was told that this could work If I have 2 backup disk pools.
Like I have backup diskpool, then I can have like say a DB2 backup diskpool
then I can have the next storage pool setting for the db backup pool so I
can migrate to the one Library then for the other backup disk pool
I can have

Interesting propsal, Mike: effectively a -preview mode for Backup.
Note that, on Unix systems at least, an analogous function may be
performed via the 'find' command, using a -mtime value relative to
the last backup time for the filespace, which is granular to 24 hour
time intervals. (Finer granul
