I'm not sure that backupsets on 3590 are supported on Win2K - better double
check.
(The way I've done backup sets for Win2K, is to write the backupset to
devclass=file on the server, then burn a CD for the Win2K box to read.)
But if you think it's unlikely you will need the files again, just EXP

I think you have to download this through the new Passport process. That
is what we had to do to update to the V5 versions of "ITSM for Databases"
(for Oracle and SQL) and "ITSM for Mail" (for Domino). This is because

With Collocation on, we had one small problem with the DB2 API.
We backup our DB2 databases with multiple sessions. If the DB2 backup is
directed to tape, the backup can only occur single session, because the
second sessions sits waiting on the tape being used by the first session.

I'll look into Exporting and backup sets. I have done backup sets before,
but it would mean in the event of a machine going down that I'd have to
connect the NT / Win 2000 machines to a stand alone 3590 tape drive.

We are monitoring our w2k sp3 with pre-hotfixes sp4 servers with MOM (MS
Operation Manager). And of course, we monitor TSM scheduler services which
generates an alert in MOM if a TSM service goes down. And they do that a
little bit too frequently.. use repeat count in MOM.

In this case you can generate back-up sets in stead of creating archives.
This would be a work around. I would go for the trouble of restoring the
data on to a client which a would give the task of Archive holder and do the
archives from there.

A quickie one : when migrating multiple nodes data from non-collocated disk pool to
collocated tape pool, using migproc=2, in which order will data be migrated ?
1) node 1 data on 2 different tapes, then node 2 data on 2 different tapes etc
2) node 1 data on one tape and node 2 data
Yes, this matters. Looks like a copy of the file you are restoring is on the
diskpool. Marking them as destroyed will trigger TSM to restore from the
copy pool volumes.

You wrote that you are now upgrading to 4.2.4. This is a wise thing to do.
My advice in general: first upgrade to the latest maintenance level before
