Hi,
it is quite normal for device names to be different when you use library
sharing,
you only have to define the path on the management server for the client, you
dont have to define drives on the client.
On the client you only have to make sure that the name for the library is the

if I am UNIX root I would be able to perform "su " and act on his

Josef,
I nearly didn't reply to this because of your inappropriate subject line - I'll
assume it was a mistake.
RMAN generates its own names for the backuppieces, but the oracle admin has control
of the prefix used.
One option that they can use is different prefixes for different retentions,
Interesting.
I use the 'cluster=off' switch in the smsrun file, you have to for TSM to recognize
the clustered volumes. I also, however,

the common file space naming for the

It's a simple set of 'ndd' settings to get it hard-coded to 100 full. Here is
an example of both a hme and a qfe card
#Settings for hme0
ndd -set /dev/hme instance 0
ndd -set /dev/hme adv_100fdx_cap 1
ndd -set /dev/hme adv_10fdx_cap 0
ndd -set /dev/hme adv_10hdx_cap 0
ndd -set /dev/hm

does anyone know how to hardcode the interface to 100 Full Duplex? Sparc 20

I have a Netware6 cluster where I can't get the TSM client (v5.1.5.15) to

others connect to our test server.

When TSM reclaims offsite tapes, it uses the onsite copy of the data, not
the offsite tape (if the copypool tape is offsite), so your hardware is
adequate to do this, since you can already do the backup stgpool function.

René,
I have not tried the AIX 5.1.5.15. 5.1.5.11 was the highest patch

I do have 5.1.5.15 running on a handful of Window 2000/XP clients for

Hi Jim,
As Zlatko pointed out, you have to specify:
INCLUDE.SYSTEMOBJECT ALL yourmgmtclassname
I'm not sure whether that answers your question entirely, but if it
doesn't, then if you could explain how you want to manage the
systemobject, then that would help.

Hello
I suspect you are using Windows2000?? I've had the same problem.
Solution:
Remove backupreg from dsm.opt
Deleted adsm.sys
Since the registry is included in the "system objects" backup adsm.sys is
not needed
Dont forget to have domain all-local or domain systemobjects in your
optfile.

It is always highly recommended to use separate nodes for B/A client
