There are not known limitations on the amount of data to be backed up that would contribute to a hang. Network problems are one fairly common cause of hangs, though I would think you would eventually get some kind of network error. You might consider upgrading to the latest TSM client patch level (

No. FC 6203 is Dual LVD adapter and is incompatible with 3575 (which is HVD). Though 6207 *might* work (and I am not even sure does AIX 5.1 have drivers for it), it is not supported for p670. The replacement is FC 6204 which is supported and is available (6207 was "withdrawn from marketing" around
