Did anyone come across this issue, we have a scheduled back that starts
at 6am, and usually ends by 9. I just logged on to check on other processes
and noticed that the schedule is still running but the byte count is not
changing:

A backup is considered LAN-FREE when the data does not pass through the LAN. If data
comes from internal SCSI disks and goes through the HBA straght to the tapes, then no
data was transmitted on the network. For server-free backups, then you need data on
the SAN backed up to tapes on the SAN.

This is incorrect. LAN FREE either the data from the SAN or not from the
SAN it will backup using LAN FREE or through the fiber.

5.1 works the same as 4.3.3 as best as we can tell. We installed Oracle 32
bit on 5.1 and 64 bit on 4.3.3 with the only change being the executables
and the libobk64.a (and trust me those are big changes).

Am I missing something?? The instructions in the manual for 2.2.1 are for
4.3.3 32 & 64 bit, as far as I can tell-- at least the file that installed
has a different name (libobk64.a) than the one that has always been. Do I
relink it the same way with the same old name, or do I use the new name?

But I've never heard of anybody replacing a 3494 because of age - just

On Win2K the client (I am using 4.2.0.0 and 4.2.1.20 versions) does back
them up only once, they are not included in file backup. They still show up
in dsmsched.log and the DB, though.

This problem is documented in APAR PQ60516, and is fixed in 4.2.3.0. It is
also broken in 5.1, but where exactly it got fixed, I don't know but
at 5.1.5.4, I don't see the problem.

There is an AIX 5.1 64 bit mode tcpip bug you will want the fix for. It
causes slow TSM backups. It is currently available as an efix but is
suppose to be officially released next week. The apar number is

bds999.1) + 10 files from day_01 (bds000.2, bds001.2, ..., bds009.2) and your
