Hi everybody!
My TSM log-files are getting larger and larger..
So I am about to write a Kix-script that archives my TSM logs.
Are there any problems related to deleting the .log files for TSM?
Is the client-side log files used for anything server-side?
Thanks alot for any input!

I would like to hear from anyone who may have dealt with classified material
mistakenly being backed up through TSM. Do you have any documentation in
place to handle this? If so would you please contact me offline from the
list so we can discuss. I would like to see what solution(s) are out there

The other possibility is that since the 2108 was replaced, there may

Sounds like the SCSI ID order may have been changed on the 2108 (easy to

rmt0 sounds OK as that is where the library changer path is.

The TSM server worked perfectly until yesterday. The tape drives all went

Hi,
I've just installed TSM 5.1.1 on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server (SP2)
The hardware of the TSM server is:
IBM Netfinity X232 8668 (Pentium 4, 1133 MHz)
512 MB RAM
IBM ServeRAID-4LX Ultra 160 controller (SCSI controller of internal disks)
IBM LTO library connected via an Adaptec SCSI controll
Once I have associated a copy stg pool with a primary stg pool, it will
not allow me to remove it. Has anyone else had this same problem in
5.1?

Taking the drives offline should be adequate. You could also cancel any
processes that are trying to access the tape drives while you are

But keep in mind that the Bytes Transferred is not the same as amount of
data backed up. This is the total number of bytes transferred during the
session and includes any retries due to files changing and such. I used
these numbers once to tell a Domino administrator we were backing up almost

The easiest way we have found is to use the tapeutil utility and download
the code to the drives from the server side. You just offline the drives
one at a time and perform the upgrade. Super easy!

Yes, TSM can take full adavantage of both the robotic mechanism of tape

Option 2 depends on how much data you have. We had about 60TB on our AIX
