No, you cannot create a log file with the GUI.
What you can do instead is use the command line version of the client and
redirect the output to a file:
dsmc incremental > /my.tsm.backup.output.file

Check the volume out first, without doing a label check. Insert the volume
and do the label libv. I would do further checking if I were you though. I
think relabling a volume this way will destroy your data, as it may zero
out the index. You don't want to re-initialize the volume, just put on

Yes, it will require all the inactive files to come back. But, the DR
vendor can provide enough disk. They cannot provide 30 tape drives. So
with about 8 tape drives restoring the pool in about 18 hours (estimate for
5TB), we will then be able to do parallel restore of 180 servers.

There is no change (yet) to the TDP/R3 code between TSM 4.x and TSM 5.1.
The TDP/R3 software uses the TSM API to back up the Oracle database and a
small assortment of control files. The API comes with the TSM backup/archive

I had to do this last summer. It allowed me to use the three tape drives
(maxprocess=3) in the 3575 to disk and then migrate to new media.

driver for these drives. You are probably ok for the driver, but since the
elements are switched, TSM is putting the tape in one drive and then
expecting to see it in the other drive. Thus the timeout.
