What folks do not understand about TDP for Exchange is that it is just a
vehicle to store and manage exchange backkup objects. There are 3 types,
full, incremental, differential. Full backs up everything including the
recovery logs. Incremental backups what has changed since the last full

If it is a primary pool tape you just do a RESTORE VOLUME command on the TSM
Server. The current tape will get marked destroyed and the data will
actually go to other tapes in the pool from your copypool.
If it is a copy pool tape, just do a DELETE VOLUME DISCARDDATA=YES. The
next time you run
Query event will show you if a scheduled session has "started" or not.

we backup our SAP servers (online) using TDP for SAP R/3.
Yesterday our backup cancelled due to networking problems.
Unfortunately all tablespaces remained in status BEGIN BACKUP.
Is there a way to ensure that all tablespaces are reset to END BACKUP
even when the backup fails?

I tried a backup of a sample of 300M.
Using windows backup utility it takes 1 min
DUMPDB/LOADDB - is used when the database is corrupted, and audit db doesn't
solve the problem. DUMPDB increases the size of the database.
UNLOADDB/LOADDB - rearrange the structure of the database, this would in
most cases result in better search performance and a smaller database.

I use TSM 4.2.0 on AIX4.3.3. I want to upgrade to 4.2.1. I migrate
from 4.2.0 to 4.2.1.
It cann't start TSM server. I will delete db and create new db to
start TSM.
I can take TSM db 4.2.0 to TSM 4.2.1 or start new one.
