[XXE] New Window feature

2015-06-12 Thread Jeff Hooker
Hello Hussein,

When attempting to use the New Window feature, selecting File > Quit in any of
the windows results in all windows closing and the application shutting down. I
thought that this might be related to having XXE running in Single User
Instance mode, so I disabled it, restarted XXE, and tried again with the exact
same results. The guidance in the XXE Changes pages suggests that this is not
expected behavior. I'm running 6.0 on Windows 8.1, but it performs the same way
in CentOS 6.0. Is this a known issue or is my situation unique?

Regards,
Jeff.

Yes that's normal. However you can easily create a custom mediaobject
template containing a videoobject using "Options|Customize
Configuration|Save Selected Element As Template". See
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/help/customizeConfigurationMenu.html

not pop up to browse the desired video file for insertion..**?*

please clarify

The facility you expect is not available for videoobject and audioobject
elements. Videoobject and audioobject elements are currently not as well
supported as imageobject elements are.

If you want to specify the fileref attribute of the videodata element
please proceed as follows:

1) Click on the "film" icon to select the videodata element.
2) Use the Attributes tool to give attribute fileref a value. There is a
"Choose file" which can be used for that.

No, this problem is not related to "Single User Instance mode".

That's right. This is clearly not the expected behavior.

I'm sorry but I cannot reproduce the problem you describe using stock
XXE v6.3 (with or without "Single User Instance mode").

Sorry for my poor wording. By "that's normal", I meant "this is not a

I certainly agree with that.

I'm really sorry but the answer is no.

Please understand that DocBook has several hundred elements (and
counting...with the advent of DocBook 5.1) and that our XML editor
cannot provide a decent user experience in all use cases.

That's why we have made our XML editor customizable (by end-users to
certain extent) and extensible (by IT consultants, not by end-users.)

I will try your instructions

I'm sure that you'll find "Save Selected Element As Template" very useful.
