Re: Announce: RDP to VNC
Now I could be dumber than the average bear, but what are the benefits of using a linux box to connect to W2K Terminal Server. Wouldn't you still need a license for each user to connect to Terminal Server? Can't you already use a dos box to connect to Terminal Server? Matt Grab Alastair Carey wrote: > Woah. Server side scaling extensions - compatible w/ PalmVNC
Which of the winvnc servers are compatible with palm vnc's server side scaling extensions? Thanks, Matt Grab MIS Cindy Rowe Auto Glass - To unsubscribe, send a message with the line: unsubscribe vnc-list to [EMAIL PROTECTED] See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html -
winvnc binaries w/o numlock problems
Recently there was a discussion about the problem with num lock handling in WinVNC. I think James suggested commenting out the initial 'turn off numlock' code. Can somebody distribute a binary with that commented out? Or is there a vncviewer change that can prevent that from happening? Turning off the numlock on the remote machine is a big problem for me. I'm not stupid, but sometimes after connecting to a machine, the only way to get the numlock to turn back on (after it was turned off during initialization) is to reset the pc. Numlock & Capslock
Will someone please compile a version of the winvnc server that does not turn off numlock and capslock upon connecting? Thank you, Matt Grab - To unsubscribe, send a message with the line: unsubscribe vnc-list to [EMAIL PROTECTED] See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html -

Printing full screen-Windows
How do I locally print the full screen of a windows server from a windows client? I've tried print screen, alt-print screen, and ctrl-print screen. None of them dump the window to the local clipboard. What am I missing? Server side 4bit greyscale
I know this topic has discussed before. I think I recall that ATT is against implementing 4bit greyscale. One of the concerns is that they do not want to create a new encoding. But I think there are at least 3 reasons why this option would be very popular. 1 - the percentage of people with low bandwidth internet connections will still remain high for a while. Here in the US, dsl and cable modem are gaining in popularity, but the sheer distance sensitivity means that most people will not be able to get dsl for some years to come - leaving them with only 56k. 2 - The percentage of people with low bandwidth wireless connections is increasing rapidly. Sure, 3G, GPRS, and others are coming, but they are 3 years off - as a realistic guess. 3 - it will be fast. VNC is awesome. I can install it on friends pc's, relative's pc's, and all of the corporate pc's. I'm sure all of you are proficient PC users. You know when somebody calls you with a question, you're brain is flying at a rapid pace, and start menu/ whatever is dragging across the screen like Jesus carrying the cross. What do you people think about this? James? Re: Can anybody help?
You have to install the version of winvnc that comes with palmvnc onto the server you are trying to connect to.
