Re: Data Base Conversion

Generally most data bases will accept a spread sheet. From MS Works convert
it to a Excel and it should not be a problem to import to openoffice

Re: info: Additional Licensing requirements if any for use of Open Office for Professional Work in Companies

2012-12-31 Thread Kadal Amutham
Generally , all open source software are developed by communities and
volunteers and they do not have any hidden agenda. Monetary gains are not
the driving force. People love the job, enjoy the culture, work environment
and produce some thing useful to the society. In the other
hand, licensed software may have a lot of other commercial interests which
may force to do some unethical practices. Many companies who
promote licensed software, try to "look" into your company for any pirated
version of their software. In open source software there is no one is going
to "look".

For the last two years or so, I am using various open source software like
Ubuntu, Open Office, Gimp, Kicad, and lot more. I prepare electronic
schematics, PCB layouts, some graphic designs, image editing, web design
all using open source software. The quality of the software are second to
none. My OS is very fast, free of virus and worms and above all stable.

An organization like your can save millions of rupees and the money saved
can put to use for many good cause in India.

Welcome to open soruce

Dear Steve,

There is no stand alone viewer for OpenOffice. Basically it is not required
at all. You have to install OpenOffice where ever you want to run the

for OpenOffice, and logically it is not required. Install OpenOffce, where

To reduce the save time, split the files into many, and have links between
files. This Feature should be available in AOO. Then your saving time will
be much faster. In case of file corruption due to any reason, only that
