Re: Downloading templates

2016-12-04 Thread Girvin Herr

Mike,

It doesn't look like your posting was answered. If not, this may help.

You can put downloaded templates anywhere you want. However, you must
"Import" the template for it to be listed in the templates list. This
is done by choosing File -> Templates -> Organize and in the dialog that
appears, select (double-click) your template folder, probably "My
Templates" or whichever folder you want in the left list panel. Then
under "Commands", there should be an Import Template option. Select
that and a file selection dialog should appear. Search for your new
template and select it, then "Open". Your new template should then
appear in the list of templates (i.e.: New -> Templates and Documents).

I am not sure if you can delete the downloaded template file after it
is imported. I suspect you can, but I am not sure. I have never tested it.

HTH.

I thought I had already answered it.

The Original Poster's issue is that despite being listed on the AOo
Template site, the templates they would like to use, are not available
for downloading from that site.

Basically, somebody with the appropriate rights, needs to walk through
the Template repository, and either deleting, or marking on the page,
that the template is either no longer distributed by AOo, or was never
available via AOo. (My guess is that between 5% and 10% of the listed
templates are not downloadable, due to one of those two reasons.)

Downloading issues

2016-12-04 Thread barryh1...@aol.com
I have made several attempts to download the Open Office application onto my
Windows 7 laptop. The download begins normally, indicating a download time of
approximately 20-30 minutes. However, at random points during the download,
the download slows to a crawl and then it says 8-12 hours remaining.
Essentially, the download has stopped.

What can I do?

I've looked at the mirror sites, and I'm not sure what file(s) I need to
download to install Open Office.

Please advise.

Thank you!
Barry

Download issue

2016-12-04 Thread barryh1...@aol.com
I have made another attempt at downloading the application. It indicates the
download is 134 MB in size, but it seems to slow to a crawl at around 67 MB and
then stop altogether as though it has completed the download.

Please advise.

Could I download this on another computer and then transfer the installer to
this computer as an option?

I looked at the mirror sites and I see many files so I am not sure which one(s)
to download.

Please advise.

Thank you!

I used the resume to create a resume and was told I would be charged 1.95. So
far, I have received no emails and no receipts. Who do I contact.

Thank you,

The question was: From which URL not what type of template you tried to
download.
OpenOffice don't charge for anything, therefore we like to know from
which site you download.

OpenOffice should be downloaded from www.openoffice.org only this site
redirect you to sourcefoge.com

the download should start automatically don't click on any advertisements.
If it slow down there could be two problems 1) slow internet provider 2)
not enough disk space

Please advise.

Thank you!

Some of the templates on the AOo Template repository site are neither
libre, nor gratis, which is why I asked for the specific URL.
