bind key to commando: list all comandos
Hello When I want to bind a key to command, I have sometimes difficulties to find the command, since it is in a category which is not obvious to me, for example left-to-write is in *format*. Is there any way to list *all* commands and not only by category. This doesn't answer your question, but how many paragraph styles are you using? Perhaps at most one for the tables and another for the separate text. You can change the font in those styles without selecting anything. I trust this helps. Re: document with 2 tables, select all does not select all
I assume you are using OpenOffice. Are you using it in Text Mode? or Spreadsheet? Are you working on a Mac or windows computer? I selected whole document, with lots of tables, etc under Word or Excel and it always worked. I have to set up a dual table in the OpenOffice - once I know which function (text, spreadsheet, data base etc.) that you are using. Hope I can help. PS I also use Nisus Pro sometimes - but I never got good at it, because I used to know Word so well. I like Nisus and their ownership. I have met and talked with Bill Gates. I have heard many bad stories about his temper and lack of respect for others. I just saw an interview of Steve Jobs and Bill Gages. Steve just shined all over Bill. But Steve said good things on TV about Bill. But I have heard from their employees that both could be tyrants. I always managed to avoid conflict and bring people together at NASA, and in Universities where I worked as a VP/CIO of IT and Telecom. But I started out in large scale computing because of my dissertation in Theoretical Physics. I needed to compute using my model. Re: Open office problem with character set.
I created a test document with OpenOffice - in the text mode, not spreadsheet. I had no problems setting up two different typetables. Began with each using a different format. Then I change all the font back to Times Roman 12 pt.I use OpenOffice 4.0.1I also upgraded my MacBook Pro to Maverick OS (10.9.0) for my Mac Book Pro. I was running Mountain Lion, 10.8.5. Maverick was a free upgrade, did it yesterday. It changes some of the interaction I have with the Mac. But nothinghorrendous as one gets with Billy Boy’s concoctions. As an example of Steve vs Bill on software (and hardware) isthat Steve is an artist, he is a sales person, he is motivated to provide the total best experience for the User.Bill on the other had their programmer analysts just leave the old OS code and work around it. It is a bit finding outyou have cancer, say of the prostate Gland. Steve would get rid of it in total as I had to. Bill would try to close offaccess to the cancer. I built his own new man-made prostate gland or transplant - and they often failed to do that.Bill did S/W development in small increments. Never solving the holistic problems with their Windows OS. Steve onthe interview by a Computer Technology journalist showed that Steve said what he wanted, and clearly explainwhat was happening. He did say the Bill should be thanked because he created the first software company for users.Behind the scenes they never said much good about the other. OpenOffice with the txt document choice. I worked fine changing each table differently; then doing a Command A - select all - and change the fonts to be the same. So I could not as yet replicate the problem you have found. I will test the spread sheet next. I am not sure yet whether OpenOffice as a document lock mode. I will have to check that out as well.Perhaps your tables have been locked. I don’t use lock mode. I have been running and head of all technologyat NASA and for Universities. But also I have had a lot of experience with various applications. This is the small file I created - and font changing as single tables or both at one time all worked. Open office problem with character set????
I just tested spread sheet. I was a little slow - I have not created many lately. But I set up two different tables. I choose different columns and rows I had them each set up with their own font type and size. When done, I drug the trackpad curser over the the collection of both tables - I changed them all to same font and font size. So, so far I don’t what is causing you a problem. If you want to send me say just one page of your document with two different tables that you want them both to be the same Font and Font size. By the way, on Filemaker Pro for Macs and PC’s, and Access for just PC’s I could move the same data tables from Excel Spreadsheet into FileMaker Pro, and into Access. I could easily export FMPro and access data - and even back to Excel spread sheet. I had one minor problem for myself where I tried to import a file from OpenOffice in rtf format - and the File I was trying to import to - gave me an conflict error, so I had to change the file format to a .doc or .docx format (so the MS, file would accept the file I had in OpenOffice. I used the OpenOffice Data Base system but it did not even come close to FileMaker Pro (I have version 12). If you can give me more info or a test document - part of a document where it will not allow you to switch all the characters to what ever you would prefer. Kubuntu 13.10 & AOO
I'm trying to convert my laptop from LibreOffice over to AOO. I had a done this previously using the unofficial Debian Port[1] for AOO 4.0 on another laptop. However, my current laptop is running latest [K]ubuntu - 13.10 - and it only crashes at start-up. Sometimes I get the start-up logo first; but then it just bombs out the same way. Below is what I get when I run swriter or soffice from the command-line (Konsole). I did a full purge of LibreOffice, and then had to purge another library (libure) that LibreOffice had installed without their name in the title. I then installed AOO with the following command: # apt-get install openoffice openoffice-en-gb openoffice-en-us openoffice-brand-base openoffice-brand-calc openoffice-brand-draw openoffice-brand-impress openoffice-brand-math openoffice-brand-writer openoffice-pyuno openoffice-ooofonts openoffice-ooolinguistic openoffice-debian-menus openoffice.org-hyphenation openoffice.org-dtd-officedocument1.0 openoffice-graphicfilter penoffice-images openoffice-javafilter openoffice-ogltrans openoffice-onlineupdate openoffice-ure openoffice-xsltfilter after adding the appropriate source entry for APT to get the files. I've also tried renaming the ~/.openoffice folder so it gets recreated, rebooting to ensure everything got cleared out, and reinstalling several times - with purges, clean, and autoremove to remove the previous install. Anyone have any luck running AOO 4.0.01 under [K]ubuntu 13.10? Or is it just me having issues?
