Fedora 24: LibreOffice Quickstartet
Hi, I really miss this quickstarter of LibreOffice in Fedora 24 (otherwise an excellent distribution). Is there any possibility to get it besides that of installing the packages from the website of LibreOffice? With Fedora 23 I experienced some issues with this method (menu freezing, menu disappearing, writer ignoring save format, etc.), I wouldn't try it again. Google search didn't bring much so far. PCIe drives come in one of two flavors—AHCI or NVM Express—and the G752 works with both of them. However, it doesn’t support M.2 drives based on the Serial ATA standard. Those drives are too slow to take advantage of the copious bandwidth on tap, so there’s little point to running them in a laptop like this." the SSD i tried is described here: http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/consumer/950pro.html and the "specifications" tab reads: INTERFACE PCIe 3.0 x4 (up to 32 Gb/s) NVMe 1.1 so it sure seems like i should be able to use that SSD. but, as you can read above, my first attempt did not end well. am i missing something? is support for that device built into the stock fedora kernel as it comes from red hat? (i just assumed it was, perhaps i was being optimistic. would this need standard pci-e support?) is anyone else using this setup? with what SSD drive? and did it just work out of the box? i'm open to suggestions. more in a bit ... rday -- Robert P. Samsung Gs3 and F24/Xfce
I worked this out with F21 back in '14 and it worked just fine with F22. I had to add gvfs-mtp to get the Gs3 to mount back then. I added it and still not getting the Gs3 to mount. I get the mounting of the Verizon CD that would load the Windoz drivers, but then it just goes away and the Samsung mount point does not replace it. Do I have to reboot after installing gvfs-mtp? One thing of note in that my system is claiming that I have a AudioCD waiting to be mounted. I DID yesterday play and audio CD, but I unmounted it and disconnected the USB CD/DVD drive. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in, but I don't think there is a way. dnf knows when removing a package leaves behind what it calls leaves, packages that have nothing depending on them, but I don't think it keeps track of installation method beyond repository of origin. If it is a single package, you could try a dnf remove to see what it wants to remove for dependencies. Those packages would have installed the package you want to remove if it wasn't already installed (pulled it in as a dependency). Packages that have a *lot* of dependencies when you try to remove them, were probably installed as part of the base installation. I think that is the packages that show up as commandline in installed. That is, packages that were installed locally from an rpm using the -C option. When I've installed Fedora packages from the Fedora repository in the past, they show up in dnf as Fedora, not commandline.
