I can't figure out why I cannot get dual monitors working in Karmic as it
worked perfectly in Intrepid with the above xorg.conf file. Let me know if I
can provide any other log information okay. Any help getting s-video out to tv
working would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 467005] Re: can't force tv out on s-video in xorg.con /karmic

2009-10-31 Thread fontinalis
I found some xrandr commands in the forums that forced S-video out to TV:
xrandr --output S-video --set load_detection 1
xrandr --output S-video --auto

This works now, but still don't know how to get a working xorg.conf file
that does the same thing in Karmic.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 467005] Re: can't force tv out on s-video in xorg.con /karmic

2009-11-01 Thread fontinalis
Sorry about all the emails, but I'll be out of town all week. I got it
working after trying another command from man radeon: Here is the new
xorg.conf that is working for plugging my S-video out to my TV and
turning it on or off in the /System/Preferences/Display applet. This
option in Device section does the trick. Don't know if this is a bug
because I did not have to use this option in Intrepid.

Option "ForceTVOut""TRUE"

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 297143] Re: Xorg eats processor cycles while waiting for slow Internet

2009-11-01 Thread fontinalis
I can also confirm this. When maximizing Thundrbird from the bottom
panel top shows that Xorg spikes to 50, 80, 90 percent. Switching
between mail page and lightning calendar page also spikes it.
Thunderbird is slow and laggy in Karmic.
