[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1061275] [NEW] Ubuntu X crashes and shows blank screen with the active mouse pointer upon Wake-up
Public bug reported: When I tried to wake up my ASUS U46E laptop running Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS, X crashed and showed blank screen with the active mouse pointer after suspend. I have updated xserver-xorg-video-intel package in the precise-proposed. Let me know if I have to do anything to test the fix. Public bug reported: I get 2-3 apport-gpu-error-intel.py crashes per week. Every time it freezes the desktop but mouse can be moved. I have to restart computer using power button. Now keyboard response. I can log into the computer remotely and do a lighdm restart. But I can not open any graphic windows remotely. My Asus U46E-BAL5 notebook had the same issue. It did not identify the ELAN touch pad when I installed Ubuntu 11.04, It was showing a Logitech PS/2 mouse. I followed the instructions given in Comment # 64 and now I have the touch pad correctly identified as, ETPS/2 Elantech ETF1059 Click-pad.
