[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 877379] [NEW] TouchPad of the Netbook Zareason Terra HD randomly stop working

2011-10-18 Thread Dragoneyes
Public bug reported:

I'm on a fresh installation of Ubuntu Oneiric, on a Zareason Terra HD.
The problem is that the mouse touchpad randomly stops to work, and the only
solution is a reboot. This bug report is taken with the issue in progress, i.e.
with the touchpad not responding ( neither the right key and left key).
I hope this is a xorg bug. Ask me for more needed information.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1365695] Re: No longer able to use GUI after update

2015-01-03 Thread Dragoneyes
The issue I described in post #39 is still present (I'm stuck to
ubuntu-drivers-common to version 1:0.2.91.4), but seems what I described is a
different bug than many users reported here. What I need to do? Open a new bug?
Thanks

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1365695] Re: No longer able to use GUI after update

2014-09-10 Thread Dragoneyes
I have the same problem. Updated yesterday from nvidia-common 0.2.91.6 to
0.2.91.7 and then restarted the computer. I see the loading logo of ubuntu,
then a black screen, with no possibility to run a shell. All freezed.
Assuming the problem may be the new kernel also installed 3.13.0-36.63 I tryed
the a previous version, but it filed again.
So I tryed the kernel 3.11.0-20 and finally I was able to login, but I have no
hardware acceleration (with the typical warning message). Apport also made a
crash report relative to xorg, but I'm no able to find the report in local or
in launchpad.
Any idea how to get that bug report? I think it could help.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 345119] Re: [i965 X3100] X freezes randomly, only mouse pointer still functional

2009-10-22 Thread Dragoneyes
I have a similar problem.
I'm running Ubuntu Karmic on a laptop (Acer Extensa 5220) with X3100 Intel
graphic card.
Booting whit kernel 2.6.31-14 (default for karmic) I have a complete sistem
freeze after about 3 second after login.
I tried the option "vesa" on xorg, but i have a black screen on boot: first i
see the logo of Ubuntu (without progress barr), then instead of the logo with
the progress barr, i have a black screen. I can switch to consolle with Alt+F6,
I can see the write "login", but I can't enter any word.
Booting with the old kernel of Jaunty, the 2.6.28, and with "intel" in xorg,
the sistem will not freeze any more, but is very very slow, but the mouse
pointer doesn't work.
Booting with the old kernel of Jaunty, the 2.6.28, and with "vesa" in xorg, the
sistem will not freeze any more, ant it is fast, but the mouse pointer doesn't
work.

So, my laptop is unusable.

Ask me for more informations, if are needed.

P.S. Some one can help me? I'm confused: it's a intel, xorg o kernel
problem?

2009-10-22 Thread Dragoneyes
Despite from sistem -> aspect-> grafic effects says that compiz was disable, I
had to make compiz non-executable:
sudo chmod a-x /usr/bin/compiz
Now , booting with kernel 2.6.31-14 and defaul xorg.conf (without "vesa"), the
system works great.

So, for me, the problem is compiz and driver intel.

(However, why with vesa, the system get a black screen at boot?)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 459230] Re: X3100 intel graphic card + compiz = freeze

2009-11-10 Thread Dragoneyes
Since the 3D acceleration seems work good (all screensaver works great, and 3D
games like Openarena too), I decide to investigate.
I logged into my laptop, than I reactivate compiz with "sudo chmod a+x
/usr/bin/compiz", and with the help of "compiz fusion icon" and "compiz config
setting manager", I activate one by one the compiz effects. The result is that
is the PNG filter, in the section "image loading" (I think the english name is
this), that case the total freeze.
I just have to activate compiz with the options that I prefer, without the PNG
filter (the others: svg, jpeg, text, works good) and I have no more problems.

So the problem may be in compiz, instead xorg...

Bye
