[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 877379] [NEW] TouchPad of the Netbook Zareason Terra HD randomly stop working
Public bug reported: I'm on a fresh installation of Ubuntu Oneiric, on a Zareason Terra HD. The problem is that the mouse touchpad randomly stops to work, and the only solution is a reboot. This bug report is taken with the issue in progress, i.e. with the touchpad not responding ( neither the right key and left key). I hope this is a xorg bug. Ask me for more needed information. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1365695] Re: No longer able to use GUI after update
I have the same problem. Updated yesterday from nvidia-common 0.2.91.6 to 0.2.91.7 and then restarted the computer. I see the loading logo of ubuntu, then a black screen, with no possibility to run a shell. All freezed. Assuming the problem may be the new kernel also installed 3.13.0-36.63 I tryed the a previous version, but it filed again. So I tryed the kernel 3.11.0-20 and finally I was able to login, but I have no hardware acceleration (with the typical warning message). Apport also made a crash report relative to xorg, but I'm no able to find the report in local or in launchpad. Any idea how to get that bug report? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 345119] Re: [i965 X3100] X freezes randomly, only mouse pointer still functional
I have a similar problem. I'm running Ubuntu Karmic on a laptop (Acer Extensa 5220) with X3100 Intel graphic card. Booting whit kernel 2.6.31-14 (default for karmic) I have a complete sistem freeze after about 3 second after login. I tried the option "vesa" on xorg, but i have a black screen on boot: first i see the logo of Ubuntu (without progress barr), then instead of the logo with the progress barr, i have a black screen. I can switch to consolle with Alt+F6, I can see the write "login", but I can't enter any word. Booting with the old kernel of Jaunty, the 2.6.28, and with "intel" in xorg, the sistem will not freeze any more, but is very very slow, but the mouse pointer doesn't work. Booting with the old kernel of Jaunty, the 2.6.28, and with "vesa" in xorg, the sistem will not freeze any more, ant it is fast, but the mouse pointer doesn't work. So, my laptop is unusable. I logged into my laptop, than I reactivate compiz with "sudo chmod a+x /usr/bin/compiz", and with the help of "compiz fusion icon" and "compiz config setting manager", I activate one by one the compiz effects. The result is that is the PNG filter, in the section "image loading" (I think the english name is this), that case the total freeze. I just have to activate compiz with the options that I prefer, without the PNG filter (the others: svg, jpeg, text, works good) and I have no more problems.
