2009-05-24 Thread Brian Curtis
Thank you for your bug report. Could you please let us know what
happens after the crash and before the crash. Also you should look
through https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting to see if theres any
information listed there that you can add to this bug report. Does it
crash on system startup, or after it's been idling for a while. This
type of information would be great.

Popey, Thanks for your bug report. There are no dups and this may be a
card specific bug. It has all the necessary files since you used
apport, marking as confirmed because of that. I will mark as
regression-potential. Medium importance, will mark higher if more bug
reports come in.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 393042] Re: [i945GME] display went blank when browsing firefox

2009-07-08 Thread Brian Curtis
Hi Bryce,

The screen never came back, i waited 2 hours just to see. I had to
restart the computer, but i never tested the cntrl+alt+backspace because
its off. It was blank on the laptop screen, no external monitors. This
happens at unpredictable times, but within an hour or two it goes blank.
The color of the screen is random too, most of the time blank, but a
white and pink have shown up.

This isn't a firefox issue

I haven't tested this in a Karmic install yet, because i can't even boot
into gdm with the newest kernel. It just flashes the login prompt like
you would see when switching to another tty (cntrl+alt+f2 for example).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 429003] Re: [karmic] Xorg (and anything GLX) crashes on startup

2009-09-16 Thread Brian Curtis
Eric,

What do you mean by empty desktop? Is there icons but no taskbars? no
icons or taskbars? no desktop image?

I had a blank taskbar, but all I needed to do was click where I knew
something was and it reappeared.

Try that, if not then its probably a different bug and should be
reported separately
